January 2023 (Grades 9-12) Testing Schedule

DCS Students and Parents, Attached you will find the January 2023 Testing Schedule for a select number of January Regents Exams and Content Area Midterms. This testing schedule is for ONLY Grades 9-12, and will take place on January 24-26th (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). There are NO regular classes for Grades 9-12 on these days. Please read the schedule carefully so that you understand when exams are given, and please know that all students are required to complete their scheduled midterms and scheduled January Regents Exams.

Students in Grades PreK-8 will have regularly scheduled classes throughout the week and are expected to be at school as normal.

Additionally, on Friday, January 27th, All students in Grades 9-12 will resume regularly scheduled classes; and on this day, ALL students will be dismissed at 11:20 a.m. so that the District Faculty can engage in professional development. All students will be served a brunch and transportation will be provided at the 11:20 a.m. dismissal.

Finally, we are hopeful that these scheduled exams will provide our students with an authentic experience as they prepare for the June 2023 Regents. We feel testing our students with such Midterms (which are designed much like a Regents Exam), will help best prepare our students who have not been asked to take Regents throughout the pandemic. Additionally, such mid-year exams give our faculty the opportunity to gauge our student's learning to date, and adjust, if necessary, curriculum and instructional practices to best meet our student's needs moving forward second semester.

Specific testing locations will be available soon. We will be using the gymnasium and select classrooms for testing. Also, the testing environment will align with Regents Exam Testing Guidelines, so that the testing environment is not compromised.
