In central school districts, candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be nominated by petition.

Dolgeville Central School District residents are invited to file a nominating petition to be a Board of Education candidate in the upcoming election to be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

Candidates must:
• Be able to read and write.
• Be a qualified voter of the District. A qualified voter of the District is a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age or older and not adjudged to be an incompetent.
• Be and have been a resident of the District for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately before the election.
• Have not been removed from any school district office within the preceding year.
• Not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family.
• Not be a current employee of the school board.
• Not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office.

The Nominating petition shall:
• Be directed to the District Clerk
• State the name of the Candidate and the residence of the Candidate
• Be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district
• State the name and residence of each signer
• Be filed with the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025

This year the following vacancy is to be filled on the Board of Education:

• A five (5) year term commencing on July 1, 2025 and expiring June 30, 2030, to fill the seat currently held by Rich Fahd.

Note:
The candidate receiving the highest number of votes will occupy the 5 year term of office.
