School Board Recognition Week 2023

October 16-20 is observed as School Board Recognition Week. This is a time to promote awareness and understanding of the important work performed by local school boards, including our Board of Education here at Dolgeville; who are ultimately responsible for student success.

It takes a strong school to build a strong community, and our Board of Education devotes countless hours to making sure our school district helps every child learn at a higher level. They make tough decisions every month and spend many hours analyzing educational issues and regulations in order to provide the kind of accountability our community stakeholders expect.

The Dolgeville CSD School Board helps keep students safe and raise student achievement by:
• Developing a shared vision and goals for the district
• Ensuring strategies, resources, policies, and programs align with district goals
• Assessing and providing accountability for student achievement
• Supporting a healthy school district culture in which to work and learn
• Ensuring District facilities are safe and promote teaching and learning for all.
• Evaluating the superintendent and working with all stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of our District.
• And much more!

School board members give the Dolgeville citizens a voice in educational decision-making. Even though we make a special effort to show our appreciation in October, their contribution is a year-round commitment, and vital to the success of our school.

In observance of School Board Recognition Week, and on behalf of our school community, I, Joseph J. Gilfus, as Superintendent of Schools, would like to applaud and thank the Dolgeville Central School District Board of Education for their tireless commitment and contributions to our students, parents, extended families, faculty, staff, and the entire Dolgeville School Community. Your service is greatly appreciated!
