SkillsUSA Competition February 2024

Eight Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Career and Technical Education students placed during the SkillsUSA New York Area II Regional Conference on Friday, Feb. 9, at SUNY Morrisville.

Herkimer BOCES sent about 50 students to the regional competition. Herkimer BOCES SkillsUSA advisors Holly Rotundo Fischer and Sarah Jacquays-Alberts said the competition is a valuable experience for CTE students, boosts their confidence and makes them realize what they’re capable of. Participating also pushes students outside of their comfort zone, helps them make connections in their industries and gives them an edge when applying for jobs, they said.

Congratulations to Kaylee Lynch (a Dolgeville student in the Herkimer BOCES Cosmetology program) won First Place in Senior Cosmetology!
